ℹ️ Short version: We only collect your name, email and message when you contact us. We don't sell it, share it, or use it for marketing. That's it.

1. Who we are

immitrack (immitrack.com.au) is an independent Australian website that aggregates publicly available immigration statistics from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Department of Home Affairs. We are not affiliated with the Australian Government.

For privacy enquiries, contact us at contact@immitrack.com.au.

2. What personal information we collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily submit the contact form. The information collected is:

  • Full name — so we know how to address you in our reply
  • Email address — so we can respond to your enquiry
  • Your message — the content of your enquiry
  • IP address — logged automatically for spam prevention only
  • Reason for contact and subject — to help us route your enquiry

We do not collect: payment information, government identifiers, health information, or any sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act.

3. How we collect it

Personal information is collected solely through the contact form on this website. We do not use cookies to track individuals, do not run advertising networks, and do not use third-party analytics that collect personal data.

The website itself — browsing the dashboard, charts, news, or visa types pages — does not collect any personal information.

4. Why we collect it and how we use it

We collect your contact details for one purpose only: to respond to your enquiry. Specifically:

  • To reply to data queries, error reports, or feedback you have sent us
  • To maintain a log of contact submissions for spam prevention and operational continuity

We will never use your personal information for:

  • Marketing or promotional communications
  • Sale or transfer to third parties
  • Profiling or automated decision-making
  • Any purpose unrelated to responding to your enquiry

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Email delivery — your submission is transmitted via our SMTP email provider solely to deliver your message to us. The provider does not retain or use this data independently.
  • Legal obligation — if required by Australian law or a valid court order, we may be required to disclose information to authorities.

6. How long we keep it

Contact form submissions are stored in our database for 12 months from the date of submission, after which they are deleted. Email copies of your submission may be retained in our email inbox for up to 2 years in line with normal email retention practices.

You may request earlier deletion at any time — see section 8.

7. How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. These steps include:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages
  • Database access restricted to the application only
  • Sensitive directories blocked via .htaccess
  • CSRF tokens on all form submissions
  • No personal data stored in browser cookies or local storage

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — request that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Deletion — request that your personal information be deleted from our records
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@immitrack.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Cookies and tracking

immitrack does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics. A session cookie is used solely to maintain your form session (CSRF protection) and expires when you close your browser. No personal information is stored in this cookie.

10. Third-party links

This site links to external websites including ABS, Home Affairs, and news publishers. These sites operate under their own privacy policies and we have no control over their data practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting personal information to them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
